Charity Bike Ride

On September 25th 2010 a team of 11 riders and a car support team left Criptic Arvis in Thurmaston, Leicester and battled the elements as they cycled their way to Hunstanton in Norfolk in aid of charity. Sponsorship money is still being collected but we think they have raised approx £2000 in total for the Leicester Hospitals Charity for the Oncology Department at Leicester Royal Infirmary.

If you would like to add to this please contact admin@arvis.co.uk or call us on 0116 2609 700.
A special mention must go to Ross Langley, who suffered a fall just outside Spalding and continued the ride into Hunstanton only to learn when he returned home he had fractured his elbow. Well done Ross that shows some real dedication!!

The riders pictured below before they left Criptic Arvis are (left to right) Jordan Alexander, Wayne Heathcote, Ross Langley, Dan Johnston, Will Bray, James Stock, Sam Dexter, Richard Ekins, Adam Colford and John Franklin. Alan Wilkinson is taking the picture.

The team left Criptic Arvis at 7am and cycled to their first stop at Colsterworth just the other side of Melton. Unfortunately at this point Jordan suffered an injury to his knee and had to stop, he continued with the team as car support with Dilip until the end. When the boys left Colsterworth they travelled to Spalding where they had their next rest stop and refuelled on food and drink before cycling to West Lynn.

After their stop at West Lynn the group travelled to Heacham, where they stopped and waited so that everyone could cycle into Hunstanton together along the promenade. This proved to be a tricky end as they had to cycle into very strong winds, but well done boys as they eventually arrived at Hunstanton at 4:50pm to a crowd of supporters who cheered them in.

All the boys in Hunstanton!
